February 11, 2015 Missouri River Fishing Report
Erik Baeumlisberger
Fog over the area

Much of this soup settled over the river today.  Along with the soup came little-to-no wind.  There was a slight chill to the air from the moisture within, but the fish didn't care.  Wild ducks kept rising throughout the day.  Our rainbows and browns kept looking at the bottom and didn't notice the ideal dry fly conditions.  If the water was a little warmer.....

At 5000 cfs and 35° the river remains steady.  Both of the opened gates at the dam are now closed.  Winter runoff is over for now.

Enjoy the next few days on the river.  Winter promises to return at the beginning of the week..
  • Thursday Partly sunny, with a high near 51. Southwest wind around 8 mph.
  • Friday Mostly sunny, with a high near 60. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph.
  • Saturday Partly sunny, with a high near 55.
  • Sunday A slight chance of rain and snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 48.
  • Washington's Birthday A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34.
  • Tuesday Partly sunny, with a high near 22.  A good chance of needing fleece gloves and Mr. Heater in the boat.
  • Wednesday Partly sunny, with a high near 37.
Our snowpack appreciates the cooling temperatures and has decided to hang in there.  Let's hope it stays that way or starts to build once again.  The threat of snow is great, but a genuine winter warning would be even better.  Boston would love to send us some of their winter wonderland.  We'll gladly accept it.

Think winter just a little longer......
